Peter Rendall - President and Chief Executive Officer
|
Prior to joining Top Layer in March 2003, Peter held executive positions at
two public companies for more than seven years. Peter brings to Top Layer a
successful track record of implementing high growth strategies for companies
in the IT industry. Prior to leading the Top Layer team, Peter served as the
Chief Financial Officer of Elcom International, an international leading provider
of complex technology solutions. Before that he was at Logica where he served
as Vice President of Operations for their telecommunications division. He began
his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he spent nine years managing many
complex transactions, including IPO's and corporate consolidations.

Paul Bogonis - Chief Financial Officer
|
Paul is Top Layer’s Chief Financial Officer and brings 25 years of exceptionally
strong financial and operations experience with emerging and high growth technology
companies. He has an extensive background in global operations, mergers and
acquisitions, divestitures, building infrastructure, and raising capital. Most
recently he served as Vice-President of Finance at Elcom International and prior
to that he was the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Summit Design, Inc.
where he also served as a member of the Board of Directors. Paul was Corporate
Controller at Viewlogic Systems and was instrumental in effecting the merger
of three technology companies resulting in the emergence of the public company
Innoveda, Inc. He previously held senior financial positions at Netegrity, Progress
Software, and Wang Laboratories. Paul received his BS in accounting from Northeastern
University and an MS from Boston University.

Barry Spinney - Chief Technology Officer
|
Barry left FORE Systems to found BlazeNet, the company that eventually became Top Layer Networks. At FORE, he managed the engineering team responsible for the development of the ATM card for the ES-3810 LAN switch. Prior to FORE, Barry held engineering positions at Digital Equipment where he was the inventor, architect, and an engineering manager for the GIGAswitch. He also developed and managed the FDDI chipset and VN switch. Barry has held positions at Softech and Woods Gordon & Company. He has over twenty years of experience in the industry and holds twelve patents. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and his M.S.E.E. from the University of Toronto.

Mike Cooper - VP Engineering and Customer Services
|
Most recently, Mike Cooper co-founded New England Project Services (NEPS), a project
management consultancy. Previously he served as vice president of service delivery
with Tanning Technology, an IT services company, and for several years prior to
that was an independent consultant helping organizations improve their technology
delivery practices. Mike also served in a number of roles with Logica, Inc., including
vice president of quality assurance and technology, Energy and Utilities Division;
and vice president of engineering and quality assurance manager, among other positions.
Mike also presents papers and writes articles to further the project management
profession, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Consulting SIG of
the Project Management Institute.

Joao Melo - VP Operations
|
Joao brings to Top Layer more than 15 years of creative problem solving results
from all facets of business. With broad-based knowledge in supply chain management,
manufacturing and quality processes, sales operations, product development, and
engineering, Joao has been providing substantial operational value to Top Layer’s
business for the past 7 years. Prior to joining Top Layer, Joao was a Senior Consulting
Engineer delivering Product Design Consulting Services for Bleck Design Group.
He has experience in the Telecommunication Industry, Computer Industry, Medical
Industry, and Consumer Industry. Prior to Bleck Design Group, Joao was a Mechanical
Engineer for Bose Corporation developing products for the Consumer and Automotive
Industries. Joao received his BSME from Boston University and his MBA from Babson
College with a focus on Managing Technology-Intensive Enterprises.

Ken Pappas - VP Marketing and Security Strategist
|
Ken brings over 20 years of security, networking, product management and marketing
experience to Top Layer. Ken oversees all aspects of marketing and works closely
with the executive team on strategy, business development and product management
issues. Ken also plays a key role as Company Evangelist and Industry Expert, speaking
at numerous industry events. Prior to joining Top Layer, Ken owned and operated
his own consulting firm specializing in network security. Previously, he held
the Security Strategist title for the Security Solutions division at 3Com/TippingPoint,
and was the General Manager of the security division at Enterasys Networks. Ken
is a global keynote speaker and has spoken on security topics to many industry
and government groups. Ken received his BS in marketing from the University of
Southern New Hampshire.

Mike Paquette - VP and Chief Strategy Officer
|
Mike Paquette has held executive roles at Top Layer for over 9 years. Prior to
joining Top Layer Networks he was Senior Engineering Manager at Digital Equipment
Corporation in the Network Product Group. He was responsible for Digital's multi-technology
switch product development, where he supervised more than 90 engineers. Mike has
more than 23 years of computer networking and security experience with an extensive
background in the design and development of networking products. Mike received
his BSEE from Boston University and has completed graduate work on computer networks
at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He speaks at leading industry events.

Jim Williams - VP Worldwide Sales
|
Prior to joining Top Layer, Jim was Vice President and General Manager of North
America Sales and Marketing for 3Com. Jim brings to Top Layer over 30 years of
exceptional sales and marketing achievements with several leading hi-tech firms.
Prior to 3Com, Jim was the Senior Vice President of Sales at Nuvo Network Management,
where he led direct and indirect sales growth in the managed services enterprise
space. Prior to Nuvo, he was the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
at Vanguard Managed Solutions. Jim has also held a number of senior sales and
marketing positions at Motorola and Stratus Computer. At Motorola, Jim held key
sales management positions, including Vice President of North America Channel
Sales and Vice President of Worldwide Sales for the company's Multiservices Networking
Division.
