Top Layer Networks Achieves Record Growth in 2006

Westboro, MA, February 13, 2007 -

Top Layer Networks, a global leader of high performance intrusion prevention solutions, today announced record growth in revenues, including 2005 to 2006 year over year growth of 56 percent in IPS related revenues, and growing profitability throughout 2006.  The company also signed a record number of new customers in 2006, adding over 125 new customers, including Samsung and the European Union.  Top Layer attributed the growth to the increased global demand for intrusion prevention solutions to protect against an ever-growing number of malicious attacks and vulnerabilities.

?During 2006 we saw a sharp increase in malicious activity, and customers reacted accordingly with sales increasing 33 percent in the second half of 2006.  With an array of new attacks and vulnerabilities facing the enterprise, Information Security remains a top priority.  As a result, we saw a strong increase in demand for intrusion prevention and related technologies that provide highly reliable security,? said Peter Rendall, president and CEO of Top Layer Networks. ?

Top Layer?s IPS 5500 continued to receive strong industry recognition in 2006, in addition to heavy customer demand.  Top Layer?s IPS 5500 was heralded in a Network World competitive IPS review as one of the ?clear leaders? in terms of performance[1].  The company also received multiple technology awards for performance and innovation, including Info Security Products Guide ?Hot Company? award and ?editor?s choice? technology awards from IT Week, Hosting Week, Communications Week, and IP Review.

Top Layer also established its new Secure Circle Partnership Program, the company?s new partner program designed to foster stronger, more dynamic relationships with its channel partners.  Additionally, the company expanded its global full-time staff over 27 percent over the past three months to keep up with escalating market demand for intrusion prevention technology.
